I am appellate attorney Greg May, and I am the blogger at The California Blog of Appeal and at The Ninth Circuit Blog of Appeals, my blog about federal appellate practice.
The focus areas at both blogs are the same, with each blog tailored to its particular jurisdiction. Thus, the areas of focus for The California Blog of Appeal are:
(1) substantive legal developments in the California Appellate Courts;
(2) procedural law relating to the prosecution of appeals, writ petitions, and post-trial motions in California state courts;
(3) practical skills essential to appellate practice. (Since this area is less tied to a particular jurisdiction, most posts about appellate practice skills will likely be posted here and linked at The Ninth Circuit Blog of Appeals.)
UPDATE: The Ninth Circuit Blog of Appeals went down with technical difficulties some time ago, and I do not currently plan on reviving it.
