If so, then . . . do not delay.
Deadlines for filing an appeal are generally very short, and a missed deadline can result in the dismissal of your case. If you are nearing the end of your case and an appeal appears to be on the horizon, you should raise the issue with your trial attorney. Indeed, your trial attorney should discuss any recourse you have in the appellate court (whether by an appeal or by a writ petition) any time you suffer an adverse ruling that may prejudice your position in the case, even prior to a final judgment. Whenever you suffer from such a ruling or from an adverse final judgment, the attorney and client are well advised to seek appellate counsel promptly!
